FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the sermon length calculator?

It gives a practical estimate, not a guaranteed stopwatch result. Sermon length depends on word count, pace, pauses, Scripture reading, prayer time, delivery style, and how often the speaker expands beyond the notes.

Can I upload a sermon file?

Yes. The starter version supports TXT, DOCX, and text-based PDF files. PDF extraction works best when the PDF contains selectable text. Scanned-image PDFs may not extract correctly without OCR.

Can this be used for Bible studies and talks?

Yes. The language is sermon-focused, but the calculator can also estimate messages, Bible studies, devotionals, lessons, conference talks, and other ministry presentations.

What is a normal preaching speed?

A moderate preaching pace is often around 120 to 140 words per minute, but many preachers slow down for Scripture, emphasis, and pastoral application.

Does the site store my sermon?

This starter version does not use accounts or a database. Uploaded files are processed for text extraction and should not be stored permanently. You can further harden that behavior on your server configuration.
